How can we be praying?
I’ve touched on this subject before in writing to you, and it’s a great one to return to. How can we be praying for students and ministry at Cambridge Christian? We have some awesome prayer warriors for the school and its people. Among them are the Moms In Prayer group which meets weekly, and also others of you who pray faithfully for the Lord’s guidance and blessing in the work of the school. Cambridge Christian School is His, not ours, but He has graciously placed it in our stewardship, and He is the One to go to for its care.
Here are just a few possibilities of ways you might pray for the Lord’s best among us. As you come before Him, He will show you other ways to pray, ways to see His work more clearly, and ways to work for His purposes more passionately.
- That all students, parents, siblings, teachers, staff, administrators, Trustees, alumni, friends of the school and others would know and love the Lord more through their relationships as a school community.
- Any associated with the school who don’t know Jesus Christ would come to a saving knowledge of Him and loving relationship with Him
- The Tampa Bay area would see a witness to more of the character of our God through the ministry of this school, perceiving His glory and His grace.
- Our relationships with each other – parents and teachers, teachers and students, parents and parents, students and students, parents and children – would be a loving and winsome part of our witness, a light set on a hill by which we are blessed and others see something they want to be part of and draw close to share in those relationships.
- For each student, God’s full creative intent for him or her would be our measure for the progress of an education.
- God’s good gifts of intellect, personality, interest, talent, and ability would be recognized and cultivated through our teaching and learning as a school community.
- Students would grow in respectful and grateful hearts so that they might shine forth as distinctive amidst a culture which has so little of either.
- The Lord keeps and draws exactly those students and families He wants here.
- That God brings His provision of resources for the school, through tuition and gifts, so that we can be strengthened, improved, deepened and extended for the good of our students and the glory of God.
- That our school families would be cared for as well in these challenging economic times.
- God would bring His clear leadership to all that we do, graciously caring for us by the gift of walking in His will.
- That we would know and share His joy, rejoicing that He has called us together.
Some of these things are partially true of us now, but we can grow in each one of them. As the Lord gives us even a small measure of growth in even a few of these areas, we would witness His work as a great harvest and blessing. Our selves, our school and even our community would be different because of it. Would you please pray?
